The yuno mattress and the yuno sleep system have been developed in cooperation with Custom8, a spin-off of the University of Leuven (KUL). Custom8 specializes in biomechanics, ergonomics and measurement. Research of sleep systems is one of their core activities.

One of the biggest challenges for Custom8 was finding the right composition for the inserts. They tested dozens of materials for their density, compression and pressure distribution. Based on those tests a range of inserts were developed that cover the entire scale of support.
